SUDEL was engaged by Leighton Contractors to assist in the repair of a blast furnace at Onesteel, Whyalla which had a cracked shell, causing the leaking of toxic gases and other smelting operation issues.

Unique safety issues were presented on site with the requirement to work on different height levels with multiple tasks and teams working together… SUDEL worked closely in collaboration with civil and mechanical services in simops, to complete an upgrade of associated instruments, electrical equipment and controls systems.

We worked within an extremely tight timeframe, deploying 25 technicians on site working around the clock to ensure project completion during a plant shutdown period.
